November 15, 2020 Weekly Update

Dear Raleigh Heights family,

Thank you for all of your questions this afternoon and evening about the Governor’s latest executive order released today regarding “Phase Three Tightening of Certain Temporary Restrictions Due to Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19).”  The specifics for church worship services remain virtually unchanged in today’s modified order. I have hyperlinked the fifteen-page order here for your information November 15, 2020, Amended Order 67.

At RHBC, we continue to clean, disinfect, and practice the reasonable safety measures in this pandemic posture to both live the life God has given while staying safe. We request that you comply with the posted signs at the building entrance so that everyone may comfortably experience services that worship our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

We will continue to have in-person worship services for those that choose to attend on Sunday, November 15.  I am looking forward to seeing you. Our in-person Bible study is from 9:15 to 10:15 am, and worship services are conducted at 10:30 am and 6:00 pm.

The attached bulletin provides information about this Sunday’s services and provides a schedule of longer-range events for your planning purposes.

We also have our 10:30 am service available online. Please click on our website, or Facebook page, or YouTube channel for our worship service. www.facebook.com/RaleighHeightsBaptistChurch

November 8, 2020 Weekly Update

It’s Sunday morning, and it’s still the year 2020.  As I was praying, I realized that the only thing that makes sense is God and His plan.  I hope you can come to worship Jesus this morning and learn His Word.  He is our Rock, our Salvation. In Him, I will place my trust.

On July 30, 1956, the 84th Congress passed a bill, and the President signed into law a declaration that the national motto of the United States of America is, “IN GOD WE TRUST.”

Let us remember, practice, and live out this motto not only with words but in action.

I’m looking forward to seeing each one of you. We have in-person Bible study from 9:15 to 10:15 am and worship services at 10:30 am and 6:00 pm today. The attached bulletin provides for your information about today and this week’s church schedule.

We also have our 10:30 am service available online. Please click on our website, or Facebook page, or YouTube channel for our worship service. Let me know how we can pray for you.

September 20, 2020 Weekly Update

Good morning Raleigh Heights Family,

Psalm 118:24 brings us comfort with the familiar words, “This is the day that the Lord has made; Let us rejoice and be glad in it.”

September 13, 2020 Weekly Update

Good morning Raleigh Heights Family,

Autumn is at our doorstep. We can see and feel it coming. As I write this email to you, looking in the front yard, I see the recently turned yellow leaves of the river birch tree blowing in the wind. The comfort of God’s rhythm in time, like with the changing of the seasons, can bring us the confidence He is in control of the big picture.

We can also get this confidence in the routine of regular fellowship with God’s people. We have in-person study and worship for you today:

Sunday School at 9:15 am to 10:15 am for kids grades 1 to 6.

Small-Group Bible Study for all ages at 9:15 to 10:15 am.

Worship service at 10:30 am—message from Romans Chapter 6.

Evening worship at 6:00 to 7:00 pm. (we are in a series titled, “The Movements of Christianity in Our American Culture”).

I hope to see you in person. Otherwise, please click on our website, or Facebook page, or YouTube channel for the service. Let me know how we can pray for you.

August 23, 2020 Weekly Update

Happy Sunday Morning RHBC Family,

Thank you for the feedback on the new Sunday evening series we started last week. I’ve labeled our study “The Movements of Christianity in Our Culture.”  We learned about the French Protestants at Fort Caroline in current day Jacksonville being defeated by the Spanish Catholics in 1565 who established St. Augustine a few miles down the coast.  You now know the difference between a Puritan and a Pilgrim.  Tonight, at 6 PM, more about the expulsion of Roger Williams from Boston and his establishment of the first Baptist church in the Colonies—at Providence, RI.

In other news, our four virtual Vacation Bible School video presentations are now available on the church YouTube channel.

Thank you for all of your help in developing lessons, crafts, songs, and producing the videos into broadcasts.

Today we will have in-person Small Group Bible Study at 9:15 and a 10:30 worship service. I hope to see you in person. Otherwise, please click on our website, or Facebook page, or YouTube channel for the service. Let me know how we can pray for you.

August 16, 2020 Weekly Update

Good Morning RHBC Family,

Yes, it is raining again as I write to you. I believe this is the fourteenth day in a row with rain. Fortunately, we are blessed to have a place to worship where it is dry, and the climate is controlled to keep us comfortable in both the heat and the cold. While some may think sitting through a worship service is suffering, we surely are a blessed people—even amid what is happening in our land all around us.  Let’s take this day to worship God together. We will have an in-person service at 10:30 am, and we will also broadcast the service on the Raleigh Heights YouTube Channel—both live and then available for on-demand viewing starting later this evening. (it takes some time to upload to the YouTube site).

It has been my pleasure to pray for you this week. We have so many needs among us as you have passed requests for prayer me in many areas of life this week.

Our virtual Vacation Bible School video presentations are now complete. Thank you for all of your help in developing lessons, crafts, songs, and producing the videos into broadcasts that will schedule to run beginning in the coming week. As the Lifeway representative for VBS literature told us, RHBC is making lessons available to children just as we intended this year in the pandemic—virtual VBS.  Please join us in prayer that the effort put into the virtual VBS will be a blessing to our community.

I hope to see you in person. Otherwise, please click on our website, or Facebook page, or YouTube channel for the service. Let me know if you are participating in worship online; I would like to communicate directly to you.
